
FACULTY ADVISORS


Dr. Myriam Allende is a Puerto Rican internist and endocrinologist, a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), where she also served as Professor of Medicine and Director of the Endocrinology Section.
She has extensive clinical, academic, and research experience in diabetes mellitus, hypertension, lipid disorders, osteoporosis, and adipose tissue. She has served as President of the Puerto Rican Society of Endocrinology and Diabetology (SPED) and of the Puerto Rico Chapter of the AACE, in addition to serving on the AACE Board of Directors and chairing its International Committee.
She is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology.
Dr. Myriam Allende

She is a Dominican internist, endocrinologist, and nutrition specialist, a graduate of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).
She has extensive clinical, teaching, and research experience. She serves as Research Manager at Hospital General de la Plaza de la Salud, where she has also contributed to physician training as a faculty member and coordinator of the Internal Medicine internship program. She is also a Senior Researcher with the National Research Career of the Dominican Republic and Coordinator of the Dominican Network of Health Researchers (REDIS).
She has served as President of the Dominican Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition (SODENN) and has complemented her academic training with studies in clinical psychology and bioethics.
